The criteria

- Value: price against durability and the cost of reordering.
- Lead time and supply: how reliably you can order and restock.
- Support: how responsive and helpful the supplier is after the sale.
Choosing the top pick
For each category we weigh the main suppliers against those criteria, leaning hardest on durability and fit for service. The top pick is the one we would send a typical independent venue to first. Alternatives are listed for context, and we favour suppliers that specialize in the category over general catalogues.
Independence
No supplier pays for a place. Some outbound links may be affiliate or sponsored, and where that is true the link is marked. It never changes the order. If a product slips, the page is updated.
