About Tableside Review

Tableside Review is an independent editorial site about the equipment that keeps restaurant service running. We rate the suppliers behind front-of-house gear, from reserved table signs and server books to guest checks, table stands, bar mats and aprons, so operators can build a shortlist without working through every vendor in the market.

What we do

We gather the main suppliers in each category and score them on what matters in service: build quality, customization, value, lead time and support. We sell nothing we cover. The aim is plain, useful guidance for people running a busy room.

How we keep it useful

  • We rate gear on how it performs across a real service, not on a spec sheet.
  • We explain each call so you can judge what suits your venue.
  • We revisit categories as products and suppliers change.

Our scoring is set out on the how we rate page.

Who writes Tableside Review

Nora Whitman, Tableside Review editorNora Whitman spent fourteen years front-of-house in fine dining, much of it as a maitre d’ running reservations, seating and the rhythm of the room. She has opened restaurants, trained hosts and servers, and knows exactly how a small detail at the table either helps a service or gets in its way. She reviews hospitality supplies with a simple question in mind: does this make the room run better?
